About Us

Ranger Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1974 after a community members home burned down which was under construction.

Ranger Fire Department is contracted by Cherokee County to provide fire protection to the Ranger Community. The fire department is funded by a fire tax which is collected annually and distributed to the fire department throughout the year.

Ranger Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer department of 26 members serving the community of Ranger. We respond to Fire, EMS, and Rescue calls in the Ranger Fire District and outside our district when requested. The station is not manned on any particular schedule.  Our station is located at 155 Little Ranger Rd beside the Ranger Community Center. If you have any questions please email us at mail@rangervfd.org or stop by the stations during one of our meetings.
